Dr. Onno Helder RN is coordinator of Erasmus MC-Create4Care, and researcher at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. 

Title presentation: Create4Care, real world practical innovations in co-creation with nurses

Helder has worked as a neonatal intensive care nurse from 1993-2017. He initiated Create4Care, a department that includes a design and prototyping studio, at the Erasmus MC. Create4Care helps healthcare professionals to find technical solutions to issues that pose a risk to healthcare professionals and patients alike. Over 25 care innovations have been developed and are currently in use at the hospital. Five innovations are commercially available. Starting points of Create4Care are bottom-up approach and development by co-creation. Most demand for solving practical problems is coming from pediatric nurses.
